About the Moot
The Brigantii Moot is a gathering of Pagans who regularly meet on the second Saturday of every month in Morecambe or Lancaster, Lancashire, UK.
At time of writing, our Moots in Morecambe are held at The George Hotel . Get in touch with us using our contact page if you’d like someone to meet and greet you on your first visit - we’re a very friendly bunch, we won’t bite, promise!
The Moot has been running since late 2005 and has a number of regular attendees but we welcome and positively encourage newcomers from all paths or traditions, or simply curious to find out more about Paganism from the perspective of being a Seeker.
We run a variety of talks, demonstrations, open rituals and social evenings. We try to vary the content to ensure that there is something for everyone. Rituals are made as open as possible so that everyone can join in irrespective of their own personal ways of doing things.
The cost is kept to a minimum but to ensure we can keep inviting interesting speakers, we do ask for an entrance fee of £2 waged, £1 unwaged.
We have a steering executive committee to organise everything, and we are in the process of producing a constitution (or “rules of engagement”)
Now for the official blurb:
The Moot celebrates diversity not only in magickal traditions, practices and beliefs but also sexuality, ethnicity, age, social background and most anything you may care to think of. We are an eclectic bunch and proud of it. We encourage knowledge-sharing and debate but we don’t tolerate abuse or lack of respect to others.
Racism, homophobia, sexism, ageism, violence in words and deeds - any instances of intolerance whatsoever - will NOT go unchallenged and will result in immediate expulsion from both the website AND the Moot. The website, forums and the Moot are intended as safe spaces for all pagans to chat, debate, share information and have fun. Please keep all this in mind when joining the forums and attending the Moot. Thank you!
